Hello, and welcome. You’ve managed to traverse the treacherous internet tubes to find one of the last bastions of rationality and intelligence in this realm. Be proud, because that was no simple feat. (Editor’s Note: In no way do I intend to demean or put down any other sites managed and populated by normal human beings, but one needs only to refer to “John Gabriel’s Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory” to catch my meaning.)
Now that you are here, you may wonder a bit about this province and its Commander in Chief, the man they call Faisca, known also as “that kid who does capowhatsis,” or, in some circles, “Mr. Landry.” You can think of our fearless leader as a budding polymath of sorts, if there can still be such a thing in today’s world. He certainly tries.

A student of the liberal arts, Faisca graduated from Assumption College in 2006 with a BA in Political Science; ask him about his political beliefs and he would be inclined to say libertarian. While at college he also waxed philosophical (enough to minor in philosophy, anyway), cultivated his grasp on the English language, learned to love light beer, and started down the path towards enlightenment, or so he hopes.
Faisca is often found putting his right brain to good use by drawing, writing, reading, graphic designing, and generally trying to be as creative as he can. His favorite literary works include George Orwell’s 1984 and Stephen King’s The Stand. He is fond of modern innovations such as comic books, video games, and movie films. He keeps Aristotle and Spider-Man in his pantheon of heroes.
Once upon a time, Faisca discovered the Brazilian art form of capoeira, and his life was never quite the same. He studies under Mestre Loka of CapuraGinga, writes about it at The Capoeira Blog, and passes on his knowledge and skills by teaching at the Assumption College Capoeira Club (which he founded). He doesn’t mind if you think he’s only “dance fighting,” but does hope that you won’t be offended when he kicks you in the jaw.

Faisca has played soccer and guitar. He has been a breakdancer and a cheerleader. He is a collector of swords, a believer in bigfoot, and a chaser of dreams.
He prefers Mac over PC.
Like the rest of his species, Faisca realized that after college he must find a job to survive, so he keeps busy working as a technical editor for Hewlett-Packard. For him, this is not ideal, and only serves until he can fulfill his dream of becoming whatever it is he wants to become (this changes almost daily). He lives in a small Massachusetts town with a dog, a cat, two parakeets, a bunch of chickens, two parents, a piranha, and occasionally a brother.

About Faisca’s Corner
This blog is an outlet for all of Faisca’s thoughts, ideas, advice, creativity, and inspirations. It is a reflection of him, and, contrary to blogging dogma, is not catered to any one particular niche. It is, after all, his personal place on the web.
If the blog serves any higher purpose, it is a way for Fasica to help himself and others find happiness in their lives.
Faisca hopes that you enjoy your stay here, and that you leave not only informed and intrigued, but also amused. Remember, as some Aristotle/Socrates hybrid might have said, the unhappy life is not worth living.
Godspeed, and may the force be with you.

Live happy!
